Tool of the Week: Bi-polar Coffee Mugs, Anyone?
—Contest now closed—
While some may complain that these aren’t technically tools in the true sense of the word, Chef Hans Gruber, Executive Chef at Hotel Velas Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, would beg to differ.
After all, in a recent profile, he listed a double espresso as one of his must-have tools.
Presenting the Tool(s) of the Week: Two coffee mugs with bipolar disorder. One says KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON, while the other reads NOW PANIC AND FREAK OUT.
I must admit that when I was first contacted about the possibility of featuring these mugs, I thought it was one mug, and depending upon your point of view that morning, you could flip the mug around to notify the world of your present mood. However, when I opened the box and discovered two mugs, I thought they’d be perfect for doing a good deed to co-workers in the kitchen. If someone was freaking out, hand them the KEEP CALM mug; to warn them of an impending disaster, give them the NOW PANIC mug while you disclose the grisly details, in which case, there’d better be something stronger than coffee in there.
The Specs:
- Large Bone China Keep Calm and Carry On Mug
- 3.5” tall, 3.5” diameter.
- Holds 16 ounces.
- Microwave and dishwasher safe.
- Mug imported from Great Britain…The Brits are the epitome of calm, right? Except for Gordon Ramsay…
